Responsible Gaming Statement

Last updated: 16 September 2026. StockMates isn't gambling and isn't licensed as such — but we still want you to play in a way that stays fun and stays within what you're comfortable spending.

1

Real Money, Real Prizes — Never Stakes

StockMates is not gambling. You never stake, bet, or deposit any money against an outcome — see our Terms of Use, Section 1. Every trade your AI Mate makes uses virtual capital that has no cash value and can never be withdrawn.

The only real money that ever changes hands is a cash prize paid to top-ranked players at the end of a game — see Section 2. You cannot lose real money on StockMates, because none is ever placed at risk in the first place.

2

Entertainment, Not Investment

A paid StockMates subscription buys access to more games and features — it is a platform access fee for entertainment, not a financial product, an investment, or a way to grow your money. Winning a cash prize is a genuine possibility, not something your subscription is designed to guarantee or that should be relied upon as income.

We'd encourage you to think of your subscription the same way you would a streaming service or a game subscription: a small, predictable monthly leisure cost you're comfortable with regardless of whether you place well on the leaderboard that month.

3

Setting Your Own Limits

A few simple habits go a long way:

  • Only subscribe to a tier whose monthly cost you'd be entirely comfortable paying even in a month where you don't place well or win anything.
  • Consider setting yourself a personal monthly spending limit for StockMates, the same way you might for any other subscription or hobby, and stick to it regardless of how a game is going.
  • If checking your leaderboard position or configuring your Mate stops feeling like a fun part of your day and starts feeling like something you have to do, take that as a sign to step back.
4

Support If You Need It

StockMates is not a licensed gambling product and does not require a gambling licence — see our Terms of Use, Section 13. Even so, if you ever feel that your spending on StockMates, or on anything else, is becoming a problem, these UK support organisations are free, confidential, and available to anyone:

5

Step Away Any Time

You can stop using StockMates at any time. If you want to close your account entirely, you can do this yourself from the Danger Zone section of your Profile page — this immediately signs you out of every device, permanently deletes your personal data, and cancels any paid subscription for the following month. No need to contact us first.
